Seeing something being done before you try to do it yourself is a great way to learn as well as shorten your learning curve. That is why we created these shed building videos, to help you get the most out of your shed building project. Every project is different depending on the shed style, size and your building site but you should be able to get some great ideas and a much better understanding of what you need to do to build your shed by viewing these videos.
How To Build a Generator Shed. Part 1 - Foundation and Floor Framing: This video is the first video in our generator enclosure building tutorial. It describes how to layout the foundation rails and attach the floor boards.

Learn how to cut storage shed roof rafters - Part 1: Ridge Angle Cut The ridge boards are cut with a angle that is vertical. When the ridge boards from the two sides of the shed come together they butt up against each other and form the ridge of the shed roof. This video shows you how to find the proper angle on a Speed Square and then cut it out.
Learn how to cut storage shed roof rafters- Part 2: Birds mouth The birdsmouth is a cut in the roof rafter that allows the rafter board to sit flat on top of a shed wall. This video will help you understand how to mark the board and cut the board so you can have perfect a perfect birdsmouth every time.

"I like the idea of constructing the unit from scratch, what I call stick building it piece by piece - we've seen the lightweight think plastic walled units from (a home store), ok I guess but the heavier wooden unit with permanent roofing will last longer and give better service. It was a good plan and easy to build from, I don't think the contractor had any difficulties with it." Gary

Hello! Our Shed project went swimmingly well this weekend! The only thing you’ll notice we did different was to order the doors from a lumberyard rather than building them…. Which worked out pretty well. Thanks for your help! Maureen
